ORBITS OF INFINITY

In fall of 2021, Dr. Stanley Curtis, principal trumpet at Colorado State University, asked if I would contribute to a CD he was making. He commissioned 5 artists to compose music, celebrating the vast and complex nature of outer space. Shelly Goldstein at Tonsehen, Stanley and I collaborated to carry out Stanley’s vision. We combined images I shot of the Milky Way and studio sessions of Stanley with his trumpet. The CD is available for purchase on Amazon and www.tonsehen.com

Reproduction of George Mallory Sweater Everest 1924

  • The Sweater

    With the help of Historic knitter Joyce Meader, as well as my own research, I knitted this sweater with the intent of passing it along to Andy Politz. Andy was one of the team members who found Mallory’s body on the 1999 Everest Expedition.

    The story was beautifully told in the Fall #22 Printed Adventure Journal.

  • Steve Casimiro, editor of AJ, wrote the article for the magazine. I shared both a personal and historical perspective for this re-creation.

    I hand stamped a leather label for the sweater. The numbers signify the coordinates of Mount Everest and the abbreviation IMO is In Memory Of..
